How do we get around London?

We will be taking the following transportation around London:

Train:  The train network around London is extensive and runs from 5AM to 1AM.  The closest train station to our residence is a 10 minute walk away.  The pleasant train ride to the centre of London takes just 20 minutes.

Tube:  The ‘Tube’ is the nickname for London’s famous underground electric rail system.  Your 7 day pass will be good on all tubes, trains and buses in zones 1-3 of the Transportation for London map.

Buses: Double-decker and single level buses go from almost outside our front door to everywhere in London.  Many of them run 24 hours and are safe and easy to understand with a few key pointers, that we will give in your orientation.

Walking: Everyone in London walks.  There is no way to get anywhere without eventually walking some portion of it.  The walks are safe and for the most part level.

Who are the workshop instructors

We have designed a custom built series of workshops with one of London’s top acting training groups: Theatre Workout.  On the schedule page you can see the details laid out for each day.

The people offering the workshops are all working London theatre professionals.  Here is a note from the director of the program as to the calibre of the people providing the training:

“All our practitioners are industry professionals who have trained at drama school and have at least three years professional experience. They include actors, directors, dancers, choreographers, fight directors, etc. We often do not know who will be leading until about 2-3 weeks before the workshop, as they are all freelance and keep going off on tours, etc.  Your team will include practitioners who have performed in the West End, at the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, in concerts and UK and International tours. One is now in Matilda the musical, another has recently returned to New York and is working non-stop on Broadway. Another is on an international tour for the next few months.”

We promise that the programs offered and the training given will be of an excellent calibre and that you will learn a lot from them to add to your performers tool kit in the week we are there.
